HISTORY & CULTURE

Welcome to Halifax.

Halifax, Nova Scotia, is a coastal gem that effortlessly combines history, culture, and natural beauty. The city sits along the sparkling waters of the Halifax Harbour, where you can stroll along the scenic boardwalk and watch boats glide past.

What makes Halifax especially beautiful is the mix of old and new: historic brick buildings and forts like Citadel Hill stand alongside modern architecture and lively public spaces. The city is remarkably diverse, reflected in its vibrant arts scene, multicultural festivals, and neighbourhoods filled with a rich tapestry of cultures.

Halifax is in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people.
